C-141B STARLIFTER
RODEO '96 McCHORD AFB,
WASHINGTON
514th AMW, AFRES,
McGUIRE AFB, N.J.

I was fortunate, thanks to
Don Spering, a good friend,
and the 514th AMW, to
attend Rodeo '96 and '98. I
had the chance to photograph
both sides of an Air Refueling
Mission and see all the
competion up close and
personal. An experience I
shall never forget!
RODEO '98 McCHORD AFB, WASHINGTON

After the competition is over, some of the crews
like to decorate the aircraft celebrating their
victories. Some do it even if they were not
victorious!
It's really fun watching them do it.
LOW LEVEL OVER LAKEHURST
SIMULATED COMBAT SITUATION
Another opprotunity courtesy of Don Spering
and the 514th AMW.  The weather wasn't great
that day. Very hazy. We went anyway.  We
made two low level drops over Lakehurst NAS,
headed East over the Atlantic to take on fuel,
turned North to Maine (I think) to take on fuel
a few times, flew around a while, headed back
to McGuire, made another low level over
Lakehurst and landed back at McGuire. We
spent about twelve hours in that C-141 that
day!
