16195 F-105D Thunderchief
Another factory model of the F-105 that was made by Precise in the '60s. They had two versions of
this cute 1/120 scale, silver and camo.  Niether came pylons or weapons. The silver was made to
represent a 'B' and the camo a 'D'. Both carried the same markings and serial.
Customer wanted it restored as it came from Precise even though the serial doesn't match any
F-105 and the camo version never had the U.S. AIR FORCE and FH-105 on the nose. I could not
get the canopy off. I tried but was afraid I'd break it if I tried any harder. I stripped all the old
paint off, repaired all the molding defects, primed and finished with Model Master FS colors
enamel. I made the markings with Corel Draw 9 and printed with my Alps printer.  The base is a
resin casting I made of an original. Finished with Model Master Dark Anodonic Gray buffing
Metallizer and cleared.
