54-0106 F-105B-5-RE Thunderchief
I finished the F-105 with non buffing Metalizer polished lightly and sealed with
clear. The  markings were designed with Corel Draw  9 and printed with my
Alps printer. The stand is a copy of an original factory stand. I made a mold
of the original and cast it in resin. I used clear acrylic rod to mount the model.
I epoxied brass tubing into the tail cone/fuselage for strength and the rod to
slide into.
54-0106 crashed in the Atlantic Ocean 5 miles off Montauk Point  on
December 15, 1959 during acceptance flight, killing Republic test pilot Martin
Signorelli.
