F-105D-5-RE Thunderchief #58-1155
|
Markings depict the aircraft when it was used for load testing by Republic at their Farmingdale plant.
58-1155 is the only 58- Thunderchief that still exist and is the oldest surviving 'D' model. It currently resides
at the Armament Museum, Eglin AFB in S.E.A. colors marked as 59-1771, "Foley's Folley".
Finished with Plast-kote #387 Aluminum enamel. The markings were produced by me using Corel Draw 9 and
printed with my Alps printer. I'm not sure about some of the markings as there are only a few B&W photos
around of this aircraft, in this scheme, and no photos of the upper and lower wing surfaces. I think it looks
cool anyway. The stand is a copy of an original factory stand.
